No more visa lines at German embassy next year: Pashinyan![]() December 11, 2025 - 12:33 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced during a press briefing in Hamburg that a significant update is expected regarding visa procedures for Armenian citizens at the German Embassy, Armenpress reports. “We received very important news yesterday in Berlin. The German ambassador to Armenia said that starting next year, there will be no more queues at the German embassy,” Pashinyan stated. While he did not provide further details, Pashinyan noted that facilitating EU visa access for Armenian citizens remains a key item on the government’s agenda. Armenian officials have long worked with EU partners to address concerns over lengthy wait times — up to ten months — for visa appointments. “This is the first direct response from the German Embassy,” he said, expressing hope that the improvement would trigger broader changes across the EU visa system. The Prime Minister added that tourism flows from Armenia to the EU have increased significantly in recent years, despite the difficulties in obtaining visas. He cited the growing trend of Armenians choosing European cities like Rome or Berlin for weekend trips as an indication of lifestyle improvements. He pointed out that airline tickets, once unaffordable, are now available for €35 or €50, making travel more accessible and encouraging more frequent visits to Europe. Pashinyan was in Germany on an official visit. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova. Partner news |
