  Ministry approves restoration plans for three churches December 12, 2025 - 12:20 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports held its 20th session of the attached Scientific-Methodological Council, during which four restoration, reinforcement, and renovation projects for cultural monuments were reviewed. The ministry has approved the preliminary restoration plan for the Kobayr Monastic Complex in Lori Province. Meanwhile, the sketch plan for landscaping Kayan Berd, also located in Lori, was returned for revision. The council requested a reassessment of the proportionality of the proposed restoration of the fortress’s original 13th-century spatial layout. Two other restoration sketch projects were deemed acceptable: the restoration of the Pemzashen monastic complex and the restoration of the Arakelots Church and the tomb of Prince Ablgharib, all located in Shirak Province.
