Armenia seeks EU help against election interference

PanARMENIAN.Net - On December 15, the foreign ministers of European Union member states gathered in Brussels for the final Foreign Affairs Council meeting of the year. The agenda includes discussions on Ukraine, the Middle East, China**,** and Armenia.

Ahead of the session, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas, told reporters that Armenia had requested support from the EU to counter foreign influence during its upcoming elections.

“There are elections coming up in Armenia. What can we do to help them? They’ve asked us for assistance against foreign interference, just as we helped Moldova,” Kallas stated.

Earlier, it was announced that Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan traveled to Brussels on December 15 to participate in the meeting.

On December 2, Armenia and the EU signed a Strategic Partnership Agenda during the sixth session of the Armenia–EU Partnership Council in Brussels. The agreement was signed by Mirzoyan and Kaja Kallas.
