Polish fans charged after Yerevan violence

PanARMENIAN.Net - Sixteen individuals face public criminal prosecution after Polish football fans engaged in hooligan behavior in a Yerevan restaurant following the Noah–Legia match, investigators said.

According to the Investigative Committee, a criminal case was launched over disorderly conduct by a group and group-based physical assault. A pretrial investigation is underway.

“Restrictive measures banning absence were imposed on seven individuals, while nine have been placed on the wanted list,” the committee said.

Earlier reports said that after the December 11 UEFA Europa Conference League group-stage match in Yerevan, in which Legia lost to Noah, a group of Polish supporters caused disturbances near the Vernissage area.

The Interior Ministry stated that at 00:27 on December 12, police received a report that Polish fans were damaging property near Vernissage. Seventeen Polish citizens were taken to a police station and later released.
