UK values deepening ties with Armenia: ambassador

PanARMENIAN.Net - UK Ambassador to Armenia Alexandra Cole told Arayik Harutyunyan, Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister, that the United Kingdom highly values the consistent development of its relations with Armenia.

Harutyunyan, in turn, noted Armenia’s appreciation of strengthening ties with the UK and emphasized that the recent decision to elevate bilateral relations to the level of strategic partnership marks a new phase of cooperation.

He expressed confidence that this move will provide fresh impetus for reinforcing multifaceted ties and implementing joint projects between the two countries. He also underscored the importance of the UK Government’s continued support in strengthening democratic institutions in Armenia.

Ambassador Cole expressed confidence that bilateral ties will deepen and expand across various areas in the coming years.

The two officials also discussed preparations for next year’s European Political Community Summit to be held in Armenia.

They exchanged views on cooperation regarding Armenia’s reform agenda, strategic communication, civil society development, and other areas.

During his working visit to London, Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan met with Blaise Metreweli, Director of the UK’s Secret Intelligence Service (MI6). They discussed issues of mutual interest.
