Putin highlights nuclear, logistics ties with Armenia![]() December 23, 2025 - 11:22 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - During a private meeting in Saint Petersburg with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized the strengthening of bilateral relations and outlined upcoming cooperation plans. “We have strong plans, including in the energy sector, notably nuclear energy. We won't go into details now, but there is room for discussion,” said Putin. He also spoke about Russian-Armenian collaboration in logistics, including the development of new routes that would open Armenia’s borders. “At our last meeting, you raised several issues we can work on together, such as restoring old routes and developing new ones to open Armenia’s borders. Overall, everything is progressing well. Of course, we’ll now discuss other matters as well,” Putin stated, according to the Armenian government's press service. In August, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and U.S. President Donald Trump officially agreed to launch the “Trump Corridor.” “The route will allow Azerbaijan access to Nakhichevan while fully respecting Armenia’s sovereignty. Armenia is also entering an exclusive partnership with the U.S. to develop this corridor, which could be extended for up to 99 years, with a promise to renew it for another 99 years afterward. Major infrastructure developments are expected, and American companies are eager to enter these countries and invest heavily, bringing economic benefits to all three nations,” Trump said. On September 11, Pashinyan stated that Armenia had not leased land to the U.S. for 99 years, but rather granted a construction right. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova. Partner news |
