Armenia exempt from import duty on Chinese electrodes![]() December 23, 2025 - 15:18 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - According to a decision by the Eurasian Economic Commission Board, an anti-dumping duty has been imposed on certain graphite electrodes originating from China and imported into the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The duty applies to electrodes with a diameter over 520 mm but no more than 650 mm and a cross-sectional area between 2700 cm² and 3300 cm², used in furnaces and classified under EAEU code 8545 11 002 0. However, Armenia has been granted an exemption, allowing it to import up to 700 tons of these electrodes annually without paying the duty. The exemption will be valid for five years. It applies only to economic operators who obtain a special certificate from the Armenian Ministry of Economy confirming the intended use of the imported product. Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”. Armenia will loan 2.9 billion drams to Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), according to a draft government decision. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has “strongly condemned” Armenia’s decision.
