AMD 50mln for Spandaryan Canal reconstruction![]() December 25, 2025 - 13:25 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Evocabank has joined the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund’s 2025 fundraising campaign and donated AMD 50 million to the Spandaryan Canal reconstruction project in Syunik Province. The donation made by the bank will be directed toward restoring the damaged sections of the Spandaryan Canal, which will make it possible to restore the irrigation system and ensure water accessibility for a number of communities in the Syunik region. The project aims to ensure water security, stimulate agricultural production, and create conditions for sustainable economic development in the area. As a result of the donation, 730 families (4,320 residents) in the settlements of Sarnakunk, Ishkhanasar, Tsghuk, Spandaryan, Angeghakot, and Shaki will become direct beneficiaries, and approximately 2,800 hectares of land will be provided with efficient irrigation. Within the framework of its corporate social responsibility strategy, Evocabank continuously supports projects of national importance, contributing to Armenia’s economic and social development. Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”. Armenia will loan 2.9 billion drams to Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), according to a draft government decision. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has “strongly condemned” Armenia’s decision.
