Pashinyan comments on Vagif Khachatryan health![]() December 25, 2025 - 16:01 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan says government bodies are gathering information on the health condition of Vagif Khachatryan, who is being held in Azerbaijan. Speaking to journalists, Pashinyan said Armenia’s state agencies are collecting and transmitting information about the health of Vahif Khachatryan, detained in Azerbaijan. “Not me personally, but our bodies are working,” he said, according to Pastinfo. On December 22, the health of 70-year-old Artsakh resident Vagif Khachatryan, sentenced in Azerbaijan to 15 years in prison, sharply deteriorated. He experienced shortness of breath and chest pain and was hospitalized. Azerbaijani media reported the development on December 23, publishing updates every few hours. However, throughout December 24 and on December 25, no information was released about his health condition. Vagif Khachatryan was detained by Azerbaijani servicemen while traveling from Artsakh to Yerevan for medical treatment. He was arrested at an illegal checkpoint installed in the Lachin Corridor. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
