ANC to run in 2026 elections, Zurabyan named PM candidate

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian National Congress (ANC) will participate in the 2026 parliamentary elections, nominating the party’s deputy chair Levon Zurabyan as its candidate for prime minister, announced ANC deputy chair Aram Manukyan, according to “Pastinfo.”

“We consider the upcoming elections extremely important; they are far from ordinary. We believe our country is undergoing a loss of sovereignty and statehood. In this situation, those merely seeking parliamentary seats are in fact advancing the current government's agenda.

Our goal is far more ambitious. We are entering the electoral campaign aiming to form a broad coalition capable of saving the country from collapse,” Manukyan stated.

He added that recent elections demonstrate the ruling authorities have only around 10% support, and “not defeating them would be shameful,” Panorama.am reports.

Manukyan emphasized that ANC’s participation in the upcoming elections is of critical importance.

Parliamentary elections in Armenia are scheduled for June 2026.
