Armenia extends refugee permits through end of 2026

PanARMENIAN.Net - According to Government Decision No. 1934‑N dated December 25, the duration of temporary protection status in Armenia has been extended until December 31, 2026. As a result, refugees holding temporary protection certificates may continue to use them if their documents contain a QR code, even if no expiration date is printed. The system will automatically validate the ID through the new deadline.

Holding a protection certificate is not mandatory for border crossing into Armenia, but if passport data has changed—due to loss, expiration, or damage—after the certificate was issued, individuals must apply for a new certificate reflecting the updated information. The new document is issued only based on a valid passport.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs also advises that individuals may verify their certificate’s validity by scanning the QR code before attempting to cross the border.
