EU monitors patrol Armenia despite harsh weather![]() January 9, 2026 - 16:24 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The European Union Monitoring Mission in Armenia (EUMA) has announced that its observers are maintaining round-the-clock patrols despite adverse weather conditions. The mission shared this update via X, along with photos from the field. “Despite the difficult weather, EU observers in Armenia continue 24/7 patrols, contributing to peace and stability in the region,” the statement said. EU monitors arrived in Armenia on February 20, 2023. In January 2025, it was decided that the mission would be extended for two more years, until February 19, 2027. Azerbaijan has accused the mission of engaging in espionage and ‘binocular diplomacy’ in Armenia. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
