Turkey says 90% of Alican border post works complete![]() January 14, 2026 - 18:52 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Approximately 90 percent of the construction work at the Alican border crossing on the Turkey–Armenia border has been reportedly completed. The checkpoint is being built to carry out customs and administrative procedures for travelers and goods, according to Anadolu news agency. Facilities for customs and administrative processing are being constructed at the site, and advertising signage has been installed to attract the attention of visitors, especially those coming from Armenia into Iğdır and surrounding districts. Iğdır Governor Erjan Turan visited the crossing and received detailed information on site from the district governor of Karakoyunlu, Fatih Erdoğan. The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, have arrived in Washington.
