Rubio, Bayramov stress TRIPP implementation efforts

PanARMENIAN.Net - U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov discussed the regional situation and the Armenia–Azerbaijan normalization process during a phone call on January 19.

According to APA, both officials emphasized the importance of efforts toward implementing the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) initiative.

Bayramov presented Azerbaijan’s position on normalizing relations with Armenia and prospects for peace. The steps taken toward normalization, including confidence-building measures, were positively evaluated. The discussion highlighted the significance of ongoing work within the TRIPP framework.

The two also reviewed the current state and future prospects of U.S.–Azerbaijan bilateral cooperation.

They underscored the importance of the ongoing bilateral contacts and discussions aimed at drafting a strategic partnership memorandum. Both sides expressed hope for its swift finalization and signing. Aligning priorities in this area was noted as a key factor in advancing bilateral relations.

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio earlier confirmed a joint Armenia–U.S. cooperation framework under the TRIPP initiative during a meeting in Washington.

The published TRIPP framework outlines the implementation mechanism of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity. It does not create, and is not intended to create, legal obligations for either Armenia or the United States.
