Catholicos: army is a pillar of Armenian statehood

PanARMENIAN.Net - In his Army Day message, Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II stated that the Armenian army, founded during the early years of Armenia’s modern statehood, has always been marked by its fearless struggle for justice and freedom.

He emphasized that the army is one of the pillars of Armenian statehood, entrusted with safeguarding the peace of the country and the security of its people.

"During the war of aggression launched by Azerbaijan to seize Artsakh, our soldiers fought fearlessly, and many Armenians became martyrs. Their heroic deeds will forever inspire our servicemembers in their dedicated mission.

It is my patriarchal wish that the Armenian army, as the ever-vigilant guardian of our homeland, continues to bravely defend our borders, embodying courage and endurance rooted in faith in God, as the Apostle writes: 'Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God' (Ephesians 6:10).

In prayer, we ask the Lord to protect and strengthen our army's officers and soldiers to establish peace throughout the world and in our homeland, and to let our faithful people thrive in safety and prosperity. Amen," the message reads.
