Authorities responsible for Armenian captives, MP says![]() February 6, 2026 - 15:38 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The resolution of the issue concerning Armenians held in Baku has a clear political pathway, Armenian MP Tigran Abrahamyan wrote on his Facebook page, noting that both the rulings of the Baku court and the fate of the detained individuals are political in nature. “Just as the court decisions in Baku are political, the resolution of the issue of Armenians held in their prisons also has a political solution,” Abrahamyan stated. He stressed that the effectiveness of resolving this issue depends on incorporating it into Armenia's domestic agenda and on efforts made in cooperation with international actors and organizations. “The main issue lies in the current government's political course, which has not only contributed to the Azerbaijanization of Artsakh and the forced displacement of Armenians but has also resulted in individuals ending up in Azerbaijani captivity. But I repeat, the solution is political, and political means must be pursued to resolve it,” Abrahamyan emphasized.
