MP denies rift with Pashinyan, rejects corruption claims![]() February 6, 2026 - 17:41 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Hayk Sargsyan, an MP from the ruling Civil Contract party, stated he does not wish to create the impression of a “remote debate” with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. “I don’t want it to seem like a back-and-forth debate when I try to interpret the Prime Minister’s words,” Sargsyan told reporters in parliament, as reported by Aysor.am . He emphasized that he is not implicated in any criminal case: “I’m not involved in any case and never have been. During any discussions I’ve attended, Civil Contract has never accused me of being part of a corrupt scheme or deal. I’ve only seen media reports that some board members allegedly accused me of corruption during my absence. If that happened, it would be a serious violation of the party’s charter.” He also said no conspiracy is being orchestrated against him: “There is no plot. And if there is, I’m not aware of it.” Sargsyan insisted that no accusations have been made against him, and if any exist, he called on his colleagues to make them public. “It will become clear to everyone that publishing the content of those meetings serves my interests,” he added. Earlier, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that the Civil Contract party will not tolerate disorderly or corruption-related behavior. In that context, he mentioned Hayk Sargsyan, noting that he had received a formal warning months ago for specific reasons, which was followed by legal procedures. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova. Partner news |
