Trump to host Pashinyan, Aliyev at Feb 19 peace forum

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev are expected to attend the upcoming Board of Peace summit in Washington, organized by former U.S. President Donald Trump, RFE/RL reported, citing journalist Alex Raufoglu’s sources in Washington.

According to these sources, both leaders are planning to travel to Washington on February 19 to participate in the summit.

Earlier, Axios, citing American diplomats, reported that the summit would include discussions on a potential second phase of a Gaza ceasefire agreement and efforts to fund regional reconstruction.

Armenia participated in the first Board of Peace meeting as a founding member on January 22 in Davos. During the inaugural ceremony, representatives of the participating countries signed the Peace Council Charter in the presence of the U.S. President.

In addition to Armenia, the signing ceremony was attended by representatives from the United States, Argentina, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Belgium, Bulgaria, Egypt, Hungary, Indonesia, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Morocco, Pakistan, Qatar, Paraguay, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the UAE, Uzbekistan, and Israel.
