YouTube opens monetization for users in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - YouTube has announced that monetization will become available in Armenia, marking a major development for local content creators. The news was shared on Facebook by Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, who called it a “long-awaited announcement.”

“This is a significant step toward strengthening Armenia’s digital economy, empowering our fast-growing community of content creators, and increasing global visibility for Armenian content, culture, and innovation,” Hayrapetyan wrote.

According to the minister, platforms like YouTube are more than just tools for content distribution; they are also key to generating new economic opportunities, fostering digital entrepreneurship, and enhancing public resilience against disinformation by enabling diverse and credible voices.

He also noted that the Ministry of High-Tech Industry plans to maintain close cooperation with global partners to ensure Armenian creators and tech companies are fully integrated into the international digital ecosystem.

“We expect to see the continued development of this positive approach with our American partners, and we’re ready to deepen collaboration with YouTube and the broader tech community,” Hayrapetyan added.
