Yerevan, Washington seek deeper tech, trade cooperation

PanARMENIAN.Net - During a meeting held in Yerevan, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and U.S. Deputy Secretary of State for Economic Affairs Jacob Helberg expressed readiness to intensify joint efforts in expanding Armenia–U.S. cooperation in high technologies and overall economic collaboration, with a focus on encouraging investments amid Armenia’s growing capabilities and favorable environment in the sector.

The meeting was also attended by Gohar Abajyan, CEO of Enterprise Armenia, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The sides reviewed ongoing efforts to further strengthen the strategic partnership between Armenia and the United States and discussed potential new joint initiatives.

Both parties noted with satisfaction that the memorandums signed in Washington on August 8 in the fields of artificial intelligence and semiconductors have laid a strong foundation for expanded cooperation. They confirmed that tangible results have already emerged from the partnership.

Mirzoyan and Helberg also explored other mutually important areas, including energy, the extraction and supply chains of critical raw materials and rare minerals, and possible paths for infrastructure development.
