Peskov: EAEU key to Armenia’s economic growth

PanARMENIAN.Net - Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that the role of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in sustaining Armenia’s economic growth is evident and undisputed. His comments were reported by RIA Novosti.

“It’s hard to dispute the role that the EAEU plays in maintaining high growth rates in that country’s economy. That role is clear,” Peskov said.

He added that Moscow expects cooperation with Armenia within the EAEU framework to continue.

“We are united with Armenia by integration projects like the EAEU,” he noted, commenting on U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance’s recent visit to Armenia.

Following his meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Vance announced that the U.S. and Armenia had concluded negotiations on a Section 1-2-3 civil nuclear cooperation agreement, paving the way for major projects. He said the deal could lead to an initial export volume of up to $5 billion, plus $4 billion in fuel and service support.

On February 10, Vance also met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, leading to the signing of a strategic partnership charter between the two governments.
