Police to notify drivers before towing cars![]() February 13, 2026 - 15:18 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Cases in which police officers fail to notify drivers before towing improperly parked vehicles will be eliminated in Armenia, Interior Minister Arpine Sargsyan said at an annual press conference, according to Sputnik Armenia. In numerous towing cases, police did not inform drivers in advance, which also resulted in a 20,000-dram fine being imposed. “Last year, we received several complaints from citizens stating that they had not been informed about the towing of their vehicles. We had situations where patrol officers were reasonably unable to identify the driver and call them. This year, we are conducting awareness efforts with our officers to ensure that such cases are completely eliminated,” Sargsyan said. According to her, officers have been instructed to strictly follow the regulations in force regarding parking violations. As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed.
