Tbilisi welcomes Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization

PanARMENIAN.Net - Georgian Parliament First Vice Speaker Gia Volski said Georgia welcomes the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, noting that the intensification of dialogue between Baku and Yerevan has been positively received in Tbilisi, according to “Ekho Kavkaza.”

At the same time, he stressed that the emergence of the so-called “Zangezur corridor” would not make Georgia “disappear from geographical maps.”

“Georgia’s importance in connectivity between Asia and Europe is irreplaceable. If anyone believes that the Zangezur corridor will replace other corridors, then those people are either uninformed or deliberately misleading,” Volski said.

Earlier, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed in Washington a document on joint Armenia-U.S. work within the framework of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) initiative.

The published document on the implementation of TRIPP describes the procedure for launching the initiative. The framework does not create and is not intended to create legal commitments or obligations for Armenia or the United States.
