Armenia to host 2027 U21 Кarate Championship![]() February 14, 2026 - 13:34 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The 54th European Under-21 Karate Championship will be held in Armenia in 2027. The announcement was made during the closing ceremony of the 53rd U21 Championship, recently held in Limassol, Cyprus. As part of the ceremony, European Karate Federation Vice President Jiri Bocek handed over the organization’s flag to Vazgen Harutyunyan, President of the Karate Federation of Armenia. Armenia was represented at the European Cadet, Junior and U21 Championships by Davit Poghosyan, Nane Harutyunyan, Narek Sargsyan, Aram Karapetyan, Gor Musheghyan, Erik Poghosyan, Aren Abgaryan, Alen Grigoryan, Alvard Davtyan, Gevorg Hakobyan, Taron Petrosyan, Hovik Vardanyan, Emanuel Gasparyan, Alen Gevorgyan and Suren Kosakyan, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport reported. In May 2025, Armenia hosted the 60th European Senior Karate Championship, which brought together around 1,000 athletes from 54 countries. Armenia’s Narek Manasyan (92kg) won Armenia’s second silver medal at the European Boxing Championships 2024 on April 28. Armenian gymnast, Olympic bronze medalist Artur Davtyan has reached the finals of the World Cup. Gor Manvelyan has denied reports alleging that he has expressed a desire to one day play for the French national team.
