Armenia, EU review upcoming high-level events![]() February 18, 2026 - 12:21 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Gert Jan Koopman, Director-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations at the European Commission, discussed the agendas of upcoming high-level events and reciprocal visits, highlighting steps aimed at delivering tangible results to deepen the partnership. During the meeting, the sides addressed initiatives aimed at developing economic and transport connectivity in the region, as well as Armenia-EU cooperation in that sphere. They also touched upon efforts to consistently strengthen democratic resilience. Mirzoyan and Koopman discussed regional developments, the dynamics recorded in the Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization process and existing opportunities, along with other issues of mutual interest. An Armenia-EU summit is scheduled to take place in Yerevan in May 2026. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
