ANC believes amnesty was announced to avoid sanctions

PanARMENIAN.Net - "Illegitimate president has no right to announce amnesty, this formal step was undertaken to avid sanctions. Despite amnesty announcement, many political prisoners will stay in prisons, which proves authorities can't possibly manage without political prisoners,'' ANC Coordinator Levon Zurabyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

''Amnesty is not directed at strained political atmosphere and crisis' mitigation in Armenia," Zurabyan emphasized. According to him, amnesty was only announced to avoid sanctions.

According to unqualified data reported by Zurabyan, only 60% out of 51 political prisoners will be set free upon amnesty declaration.
