Municipality rejects payouts for pothole-related losses

PanARMENIAN.Net - Yerevan municipality will not compensate drivers who suffered damage due to potholes, Deputy Mayor Armen Pambukhchyan said at a press conference, responding to a journalist’s question, according to Aysor.am .

“What is responsible behavior? It snowed, we spread salt, and potholes formed. So either the snow should not have been cleared, or… I want to understand what the responsibility is here. The potholes emerged due to a natural situation. Unfortunately, the municipality does not have a compensation procedure,” Pambukhchyan said.

He also stated that there was no shortage of bitumen during the organization of pothole repairs in Yerevan, but there were shortcomings.

The large number of potholes that appeared on Yerevan’s streets after the snow melted has sparked significant public dissatisfaction.
