Court replaces Galstyan detention with house arrest

PanARMENIAN.Net - The preventive measure applied to Khachik Galstyan, secretary general of the Homeland party, has been changed to house arrest. His defense lawyer Arsen Babayan сообщил this on his Facebook page.

“After examining the motion to extend Khachik Galstyan’s detention, the court (Judge S. Dadoyan) decided to apply house arrest as a preventive measure. In two days, Khachik will be home,” Babayan wrote.

Khachik Galstyan was detained on the night of December 30, 2025. The Anti-Corruption Committee stated that he was arrested within the framework of a case concerning alleged vote-buying during the November 16 council elections in Vagharshapat.

It was also noted that eight individuals were detained under the same criminal case, including the former deputy governor of Armavir Province.

One of the detainees was placed in pre-trial detention, while three others were subjected to house arrest as a preventive measure.
