Trump demands Iran’s “unconditional surrender”

PanARMENIAN.Net - U.S. President Donald Trump has demanded “unconditional surrender” from Iran.

“There will be no agreement with Iran except unconditional surrender,” he wrote on March 6 on the Truth Social platform, according to Deutsche Welle.

Trump also said that after the Islamic Republic’s capitulation, the U.S. and its allies would help Iran “come back from the brink” and make it economically bigger, better, and stronger than ever before.

As a condition, he proposed the appointment of a “great and acceptable leader” or several governing figures. At the end of his post, Trump used the slogan: “Let’s make Iran great again.”

Trump also stated that he would like to personally take part in selecting Iran’s new leadership.

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi commented on Trump’s remarks about influencing Iran’s future leaders.

According to the Iranian diplomat, the country’s internal affairs are handled by Iranians themselves and do not require instructions from foreigners, RIA Novosti reported.

“Iran’s internal affairs belong to Iranians, and they are mature enough to choose their representatives — whether in parliamentary elections, presidential elections, or the process of selecting the next supreme leader. We do not need foreigners telling us what to do or what not to do,” he said in an interview with France 24.

Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, the Kremlin press service said.

During the call, Russia reaffirmed its principled position that military actions must stop immediately and that attempts to resolve issues around Iran and across the Middle East by force should be abandoned, Lenta.ru reported.

Putin informed his Iranian counterpart that he remains in constant contact with leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council member states.

Pezeshkian, in turn, thanked Russia for its solidarity with the Iranian people and outlined details of the ongoing conflict. The sides agreed to maintain communication through various channels.

Tehran expressed hope that Russia, using its influence on the international stage, would support Iran’s legitimate rights amid attacks by the U.S. and Israel.

The Iranian president also firmly rejected claims that Iran had attacked Azerbaijan, calling them “a conspiracy by enemies aimed at undermining fraternal relations between neighbors.”
