Opposition praises Artsakh woman after metro clash![]() March 23, 2026 - 12:40 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The National Democratic Pole, commenting on the incident involving Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in the Yerevan metro, stated that the Artsakh woman “directly and with dignity rejected the agenda of submission to Turkey.” On the morning of March 22, in the metro, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan attempted to give a badge shaped like Armenia’s map to a woman traveling with her young son, but she refused, saying: “We have a different map.” During the conversation, Pashinyan said: “None of you should speak dismissively about this map; next time, don’t try, as ‘those who fled,’ to say that I gave away Karabakh.” “On March 22, in one of the cars of the Yerevan metro, during yet another show-like campaign, Nikol encountered the real, unbroken type of Armenian. A young mother from Artsakh, together with her child, directly and with dignity rejected the agenda of submission to Turkey and the false map by which they are trying to limit the Armenian homeland and future. As usual, Pashinyan was trying to convince that this ‘29,800 square kilometers’ piece of paper is the child’s only future. But the Artsakh woman’s response was immediate: ‘We were not allowed to live in our homeland—Artsakh.’ This was not merely a response; it was an обвинatory verdict against the treacherous policy that depopulated Artsakh and is now trying to do the same to Armenia. The video clearly shows the aggressive and contemptuous attitude of the person occupying the prime minister’s seat toward his own people. The phrase ‘Don’t try, as those who fled, to say that I gave away Karabakh’ best characterizes the real face of this regime. Meanwhile, the young woman, maintaining the highest dignity, did not yield to manipulation. She reminded that for Armenians, the Homeland is not a subject of bargaining, and that Artsakh and Armenia are one unified whole. We welcome and highly appreciate this courageous act by the Artsakh Armenian woman. In today’s realities, when the state apparatus and propaganda machine attempt to break national resilience, such individual acts prove that Armenians will not accept an imposed defeat. Long live the Armenian who does not kneel and, as a rightful owner, rejects those serving the enemy’s agenda,” the statement reads. Coordinator of the Wings of Unity movement, Arman Tatoyan, also addressed the incident in a Facebook video, stating that “the person who scatters kisses and hearts, who holds the office of Armenia’s prime minister, tore off his mask in the metro.” “He goes to Aliyev, smiles, offers coffee, becomes submissive, plays Aliyev’s ‘assistant,’ performs the role with honor, then returns to the country and acts like a lion. Instead of fighting the hatred spread by Aliyev, he spreads hatred himself,” he said. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova. Partner news |
