MP: attention to Armenian captives declining![]() March 23, 2026 - 12:44 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian authorities are not taking any steps to “break the information blockade” regarding prisoners of war, National Assembly member Tigran Abrahamyan said on his Facebook page. He noted that attention to the issue of prisoners has decreased, while information restrictions have become more severe. “After politically motivated verdicts against Armenian prisoners in Azerbaijani courts, attention to this issue has significantly declined. Although Azerbaijani media presented events selectively and in a highly distorted manner, photos, videos, and fragments of statements by Armenian prisoners still conveyed some information. When this is combined with the closure of the Red Cross office in Baku, the information blockade around Armenians held in Azerbaijan becomes more complete. The Armenian authorities are not taking any steps to break this information blockade, because their agenda and priorities lie in a completely different sphere. Freedom to all Armenians held in Baku prisons,” the statement reads. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova. Partner news |
