Officials discuss expanding UN cooperation![]() March 24, 2026 - 18:59 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan and Kaori Ishikawa, UN Women Representative in Georgia and liaison for the South Caucasus, discussed prospects for expanding cooperation within the UN framework. The sides exchanged views on the existing cooperation between Armenia and the UN agency and explored opportunities for its further development. They also touched upon the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17), which will be held in Armenia this year. In this context, Robert Abisoghomonyan presented Armenia’s approaches to organizing the conference, emphasizing inclusivity and the importance of participation by all stakeholders. He also highlighted the significance of promoting women’s leadership and gender equality initiatives in the field of biodiversity. Issues related to cooperation within the framework of Armenia’s third national action plan for implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1325 were also discussed. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
