Arrests target Vanadzor municipal officials in probe

PanARMENIAN.Net - Ten individuals have been detained, including seven current and former officials of the Vanadzor municipality, the Anti-Corruption Committee said, according to 1lurer.am .

“Within the framework of criminal proceedings initiated at the Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia regarding cases of bribery, abuse of official powers committed by a group, and fraud, 10 individuals have been detained, seven of whom are current and former officials of the Vanadzor municipality,” the committee said.

No further details were disclosed due to the interests of the preliminary investigation.

According to Lurer, those detained include Armen Ayvazyan, the former head of the Revenue Accounting, Collection and Advertising Department of the Vanadzor municipality, as well as other former and current officials from the same department.
