Mirzoyan says TRIPP talks continue

PanARMENIAN.Net - Discussions around TRIPP have not slowed or been halted and are currently at the stage of aligning documents, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said, according to Aysor.am .

“We are continuing the negotiations. I assume that at the next stage, there should be something like an intergovernmental agreement, after which an organization will be established. We used to say that we wanted construction to begin by the end of the year or in the second half, though I do not know how realistic that is; in any case, that was the intention,” Mirzoyan said.

Asked by journalists whether any negotiations had taken place over the past 30 days, the minister replied: “There has been an exchange of views.”

As for the peace treaty, Mirzoyan said no new developments had been recorded.

“Our position remains the same: we are ready, this very second, to begin consultations to determine the place and time of signing,” he said.

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington approved a document on joint Armenia-U.S. work within the framework of the TRIPP initiative. The published document on TRIPP implementation describes the procedure for launching the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity. This framework does not create and is not intended to create legal commitments or obligations for Armenia or the U.S.
