140 tons of aid distributed to displaced families![]() March 30, 2026 - 17:36 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A Russian humanitarian mission reported that around 140 tons of hhumanitarian aid have been distributed over eight months to families forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh. The support program was implemented through joint efforts of the Eurasia company and the Russian Humanitarian Mission, with the support of Rossotrudnichestvo, Sputnik Armenia reported. Over the past weekend, an additional 513 universal packages containing food and hygiene products were distributed to those in need. “Assistance was provided to the most vulnerable groups of the population — people with first and second degree disabilities, single pensioners, and families who have lost their breadwinner,” the statement said. The large-scale humanitarian initiative carried out under the program is now nearing completion. Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that the Armenian side had refused to continue cooperation within the framework of this initiative. The program was launched in June–July 2025 in response to appeals from Armenian non-governmental organizations. During this period, nearly 7,000 families received assistance across major cities, as well as in remote and hard-to-reach settlements. As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed. David Vardanyan is the son of former Karabakh leader Ruben Vardanyan who who is currently imprisoned in Azerbaijan. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has met with Stephan Schütz, Executive Partner at Gerkan, Marg and Partners. The number of state universities will be reduced from 23 to 8 by 2030, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan has said. Partner news |
