Armenia, ADB review cooperation priorities![]() March 31, 2026 - 19:13 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan has met with Asian Development Bank Regional Director General Leah Gutierrez to discuss ongoing joint programs. During the meeting, Grigoryan highlighted the importance of the bank’s involvement in key national projects, emphasizing its role in Armenia’s development processes. Particular attention was also given to cooperation between the ADB and the private sector. The sides discussed reforms aimed at developing human capital, as well as the challenges in this area. They also exchanged views on regional developments and new opportunities arising from the implementation of the Crossroads of Peace initiative. The Armenian government has developed and presented the Crossroads of Peace project, which focuses on developing communications between Armenia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Iran through the construction and modernization of roads, railways, pipelines, cables, and power lines. All infrastructure will operate under the sovereignty and jurisdiction of the countries through which they pass. Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”. Armenia will loan 2.9 billion drams to Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), according to a draft government decision. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has “strongly condemned” Armenia’s decision. Kerobyan has said that for the first time in the history of Armenia, the volume of foreign direct investments amounted to about $1 billion. Partner news |
