Opposition MP calls case against brothers ‘revenge’

PanARMENIAN.Net - Opposition MP Garnik Danielyan has described the actions taken against the Minasyan brothers as a manifestation of personal revenge.

Commenting on developments related to the St. Anna Church incident, the Hayastan faction lawmaker sharply criticized the authorities’ handling of the case involving the school-age brothers.

“What is being carried out against these schoolchildren is simply an expression of personal revenge. Nikol Pashinyan, who shows ‘heart’ gestures, hates his own compatriots. He is so petty that he does not spare even students who merely expressed their civic position toward Pashinyan, who was pushing believers in the church.

By searching people’s homes and bringing charges, they are trying to create an atmosphere of fear, thereby intimidating other citizens as well.

What is happening to the Minasyan brothers right now is condemnable. I learned that their lawyers were not even allowed into the Investigative Department. Only after contacting the Human Rights Defender was entry permitted. Colleagues Gegham Manukyan and Aghvan Vardanyan were also present and expressed readiness to assist.

And these same authorities still dare to speak about human rights and democracy. These values are being violated every day under your rule.

I express my support for the boys. Within the limits of my powers, I will do everything possible to stop the unlawful prosecution and ensure that Davit and Mikael Minasyan are released as soon as possible,” Danielyan said.

He also noted that Mikael Minasyan has been released, with a restriction on leaving the country imposed as a preventive measure.

In the case related to the St. Anna Church incident involving Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Mikael Minasyan has been released but charged, while a motion has been filed to detain his brother Davit Minasyan.
