Armenia responds to Baku over false narratives’

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ani Badalyan has responded to what she described as false accusations voiced by Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry, expressing hope that peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan will put an end to fabricated narratives, Armenpress reports.

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry had claimed that “in 1918 Armenian groups committed genocide against Azerbaijanis” and said Baku expects the international community to recognize an “genocide against Azerbaijanis.”

“Over decades of conflict, a number of hostile and unreliable narratives have emerged, which, unfortunately, continue to be used at the state level in Azerbaijan. We hope that the peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan will not only serve to build stable coexistence and good-neighborly relations between the two states and societies, but will also end the existence of fabricated theses and eliminate hate speech.

Let us recall that the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan reached an agreement on this in Washington, where the declaration signed on August 8, 2025, clearly refers, in its fifth point, to closing the chapter of hostility between the two peoples and opening the possibility for good-neighborly relations after a conflict that caused immense human suffering,” Badalyan said.
