Aram I, Lebanese president discuss stability, security

PanARMENIAN.Net - Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia, Aram I, met with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun to discuss the current situation in the country, the Catholicosate’s press service reported.

They addressed issues related to national security and internal stability.

“Preserving Lebanon’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, strengthening state authority, ensuring the army’s presence throughout all regions, and maintaining strong national unity are priorities and imperatives, especially at this critical moment. We believe this is the approach of every Lebanese citizen. We must avoid statements that create internal division and instead unite around the supreme and common interests of our homeland,” Aram I said.

He also condemned Israeli attacks on Lebanon.

“Israel’s entry into southern Lebanon and the ongoing bombardments and killings are strongly condemnable. Israel’s actions contradict international law. Therefore, the international community, especially Lebanon’s friendly countries, must not remain indifferent,” he said.

On March 16, the Israeli army announced the launch of a ground operation in southern Lebanon. Strikes have intensified in the country’s southern and eastern regions, as well as in Beirut’s southern suburbs and central areas.
