PanARMENIAN.Net - Arman Sahakyan, the son of former National Assembly Speaker Galust Sahakyan and former head of the State Property Management Department, has been detained.

The Anti-Corruption Committee stated that, within the framework of an ongoing criminal case, several individuals have been detained on suspicion of committing offenses provided for under various articles of the Criminal Code of Armenia. Among them is a former head of the State Property Management Department, as well as other former high-ranking officials, Pastinfo reports.

“Due to the interests of the preliminary investigation, we cannot provide additional information,” the Anti-Corruption Committee said.

Arman Sahakyan had been charged back in 2020, with bail imposed as a preventive measure. On July 1, 2024, it became known that he had compensated the state for damages amounting to 178 million drams. In early 2025, a court decision placed him under administrative supervision.
