Pashinyan welcomes U.S.-Iran ceasefire decision

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia welcomes the important decision by the United States and Iran to halt military actions, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in a post on X.

“We also highly appreciate the mediation efforts, including those of Pakistan, and firmly believe that diplomacy must prevail in resolving all outstanding issues and maintaining peace in the Middle East,” Pashinyan noted.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump accepted Iran’s proposal and paused strikes for two weeks, while Tehran agreed to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Trump said he had received a “10-point proposal” from Iran, which he considers a “working basis for negotiations.”

According to Trump, the two-week period is needed to finalize the text of a potential agreement.

Iran, in turn, confirmed its readiness for a ceasefire while also putting forward several of its own conditions. Israel expressed support for the ceasefire, noting that it does not apply to Lebanon.
