Armenia, Qatar to deepen investment ties![]() April 13, 2026 - 18:37 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia and Qatar plan to deepen cooperation in the investment sector, as discussed during a meeting between Armenia’s Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan and Qatar’s Ambassador Mansour Abdullah Al-Sulaitin. The sides reaffirmed the importance of strengthening friendly and mutually beneficial relations between Armenia and Qatar, which is among the priorities of the Armenian government, the Ministry of Finance reported. Hovhannisyan and Al-Sulaitin discussed opportunities to expand bilateral economic cooperation. In this context, they highlighted the significance of the agreement on avoiding double taxation between the two countries, which has created favorable conditions for boosting business ties. Currently, plans are underway to promote the exchange of knowledge and experience in areas such as energy, infrastructure, agriculture, and digital transformation. Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”. Armenia will loan 2.9 billion drams to Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), according to a draft government decision. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has “strongly condemned” Armenia’s decision.
