Armenia’s national Greco-Roman wrestling team has completed its final stage of preparations ahead of the European Championship set for April 20–26 in Tirana, Albania, Aysor.am reports. Babalaryan said that Aleksanyan underwent a one-month course of treatment in Germany and has now returned to the team. “He is back on the mat, actively training and continuing his rehabilitation process at the same time. I want to clearly emphasize that Aleksanyan is missing only this European Championship in Tirana. There is absolutely no talk of a one-year break or missing the World Championship,” Babalaryan said. Earlier, it was announced that Artur Aleksanyan would temporarily suspend his competitive appearances. Armenia’s Narek Manasyan (92kg) won Armenia’s second silver medal at the European Boxing Championships 2024 on April 28.
