RAND may research Armenia-U.S. cooperation![]() April 15, 2026 - 12:28 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia’s Ambassador to the United States Narek Mkrtchyan participated in a roundtable discussion at the Washington office of the renowned RAND Corporation, involving the organization’s researchers and students from the RAND School of Public Policy. The possibility of RAND Corporation conducting research on Armenia–U.S. sectoral cooperation was discussed. The ambassador presented the agenda of Armenia–U.S. cooperation, referring to already signed memorandums and elaborating on areas related to artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and energy security. He also addressed prospects for expanding bilateral ties and opportunities across various sectors, answered participants’ questions, and listened to their views. Earlier, Ambassador Mkrtchyan had also delivered a lecture at the RAND Corporation headquarters. The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, have arrived in Washington. The CSTO budget for the current year requires adjustments due to the refusal of Yerevan to pay their share of contributions. Six total incidents have burned 19 old-growth trees.
