Аrmenia joins BES Solution Fund![]() April 16, 2026 - 11:05 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia has officially joined the BES Solution Fund, becoming the 13th country to receive support within the Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services Network, the Ministry of Environment reported. “This cooperation provides an opportunity to more effectively strengthen the integration of biodiversity knowledge into national policies and practical measures, at a time when challenges and opportunities in the environmental sector are rapidly evolving,” the statement said. The initiative will promote more effective integration of biodiversity and ecosystem services approaches into national policies and development planning processes, including the systematic application of IPBES assessments and local knowledge. At the same time, it will enhance cooperation among policymakers, scientists, and local communities, contributing to the development of practical approaches for ecosystem restoration, sustainable use of natural resources, and climate resilience. The 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the Convention on Biological Diversity will be held on October 18–30, 2026, at the Meridian Expo Center in Yerevan. As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed.
