12 detainees face restrictions in corruption probe![]() April 17, 2026 - 15:53 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Within a criminal case investigated by Armenia’s Anti-Corruption Committee, preventive measures including house arrest, bail, and a ban on absence, have been applied to 12 of the 14 individuals detained on April 16, the committee said, according to 1lurer.am . Party member Gohar Meloyan had earlier stated that house arrest was imposed on six of those detained, while a motion for one individual was rejected and that person was released. Earlier, it was reported that as a result of investigative actions by the Anti-Corruption Committee, factual evidence was obtained indicating that members of the Strong Armenia party, along with individuals registered as employees of an affiliated NGO, distributed electoral bribes to a number of voters in the Artashat community of Ararat region. On April 14, two members of the Strong Armenia party — Gohar Ghumashyan and Verzhine Stepanyan — were detained. The following day, the Anti-Corruption Court applied administrative supervision measures against them. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
