Armenian delegation honors Genocide victims in Strasbourg![]() April 24, 2026 - 14:39 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Members of Armenia’s delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe paid tribute in Strasbourg to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide, delegation head Ruben Rubinyan said on Facebook. “Together with members of the Armenian delegation, we commemorated the innocent victims of the Mets Yeghern — the Armenian Genocide — near the khachkar installed in front of the Council of Europe headquarters,” he wrote. In addition, on April 24, a commemoration event dedicated to the Armenian Genocide was held near the “Our Victims” memorial at Republic Square in the French city of Strasbourg. Armenia’s Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe, Ambassador Paruyr Hovhannisyan, delivered a speech. Representatives of the Strasbourg city council, municipality, and numerous members of the Armenian community attended the event. The khachkar in Strasbourg, installed in front of the Council of Europe headquarters in 2018, is a replica of a 17th-century khachkar from Julfa. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
