Boxer Chaloyan beats Turkish rival, reaches semifinals

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian boxer Davit Chaloyan, on April 24, defeated a Turkish opponent in the quarterfinals to advance to the semifinals.

He has secured at least a bronze medal at the Boxing World Cup taking place in Brazil, the Armenian Boxing Federation reported.

In the second round, following a series of punches by Chaloyan, the Turkish boxer sustained an injury. After assessing the points accumulated up to that moment, the referees awarded the victory to Chaloyan.

He will now compete for a place in the final.

Rudolf Garboyan lost in the quarterfinal stage.
