Yerevan, New Delhi boost military partnership

PanARMENIAN.Net - First Deputy Defence Minister of Armenia and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Edward Asryan, during an official visit to India, met with Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan to review the current state of bilateral defence ties.

The sides agreed to expand collaboration in a number of professional fields.

The meeting continued in an expanded format with delegations, where the results of the bilateral cooperation plan were reviewed.

Regional security issues were also addressed.

Earlier reports said India had begun delivering the first batch of Pinaka guided missiles to Armenia. In November 2024, the «Indian Defence Research Wing» reported that supplies of Pinaka systems had started, coinciding with deliveries of AKASH air defence systems.
