Armenia, Georgia to host FIFA youth World Cup

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia and Georgia will host the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2029, the Football Federation of Armenia reported.

During a FIFA Executive Committee meeting held in Vancouver, the joint bid of Armenia and Georgia was selected as the winner to host the tournament.

The federation described the event as historic.

“This is an unprecedented event for Armenian football. For the first time, our country will host a major global football tournament, reflecting the great trust of the international community.

This is an invaluable gift for Armenian fans, football enthusiasts, and, of course, young players, who will have the opportunity to feel the spirit of the World Cup at home and dream of major victories.

This is a victory for all of us. Welcome to the World Cup, welcome to Armenia and Georgia. Let us prepare together to host the world’s strongest youth teams,” the statement said.
